Digital Euro: a CBDC mobile proof-of-concept
A mobile demonstration of central-bank digital-currency rails — wallets, programmable transfers, and Stellar-smart-contract settlement.

About the project
A mobile proof-of-concept showing what a Digital Euro could feel like in the hand: programmable transfers, multi-party settlement, and a wallet experience that didn't trade trust for novelty. Stellar smart contracts powered the settlement layer.
Challenge
Make a central-bank digital currency feel ordinary. The technical surface — programmable money, settlement finality, offline use — had to disappear behind something a non-specialist could open and use without thinking about it.
Solution
- 01Designed wallet flows from cold start to multi-party transfer
- 02Modelled programmable-payment scenarios on Stellar smart contracts
- 03Prototyped offline-capable settlement for resilience
- 04Stress-tested the UX with people new to digital currency
Results
- →Shipped a working CBDC mobile demo end to end
- →Demonstrated programmable-payment patterns viable on Stellar rails
- →Surfaced wallet-UX patterns reusable across other digital-currency demos
